Junior Makers Workshops @ The She Shed
Handcrafted Skills for the Next Generation
The Heart Behind the Workshop
Hi, I’m Anna! I’m a professional woodworker, furniture maker, and a Northern Kentucky native. While I spend most of my days crafting custom hardwood pieces for Grain Aesthetics, I’ve always believed that the best thing we can build is confidence.
In a world of screens, there is something magical about the smell of sawdust and the weight of a real hammer. I’m moving my studio back home to NKY and opening up my "She-Shed" to help kids, preteens, and teens discover the joy of making something from scratch.
🛠️ What to Expect
Our workshops aren't just "craft time"—they are an introduction to the world of woodworking. Every class is designed to be:
- Small & Boutique: Limited class sizes so every maker gets the attention (and safety supervision) they need.
- Skill-Based: We use real tools to build real projects. From understanding wood grain to mastering the assembly, we focus on the process as much as the final product.
- Inclusive: Whether you have a budding carpenter or a kid who just loves to get their hands dirty, our projects are geared for boys and girls of all skill levels.
📐 The Classes
We are currently in the "Maker Research" phase! Check back soon for our finalized schedule of:
- Parent & Me (The Youngest Makers): Collaborative builds for our littlest woodworkers and their favorite adults.
- Junior Makers (Elementary & Middle School): Building foundations through projects like birdhouses, toolboxes, and creative decor.
- The Teen Series: More advanced builds focusing on small furniture, skateboards, and shop safety.
- Homeschool Enrichment: Specifically designed weekday sessions tailored to homeschool curricula and hands-on learning requirements.
I’m fine-tuning our first round of projects based on community feedback on the survey below.
