Class Description
Looking for a unique weeknight activity, a creative after-school project, or a quick introduction to the woodshop? Pull up a stool at the workbench and walk out with a beautiful, handmade wooden item in just one hour.
This fast-paced, engaging workshop is designed to give you a hands-on taste of traditional woodworking without a massive time commitment. Each week features a different project—ranging from unique kitchen accessories and coffee scoops to minimalist home decor.
We fast-track the process by providing premium hardwood blanks that are already expertly preshaped and ready for your personal touch. You’ll step right up to the bench to handle the best parts of the craft: using fine hand tools to sculpt the profile, detailing the edges, and learning the secrets to a buttery-smooth, professional finish. It’s the perfect, low-pressure introduction to the shop!
What You’ll Do in 1 Hour:
- Custom Shaping: Learn how to safely use traditional hand tools like spokeshaves, rasps, or fine carving knives to personalize your piece.
- The Perfect Finish: Master the progression of sanding grits to take your project from raw wood to a flawless, touchable surface.
- Grain Popping: Apply a deep, food-safe oil or wax finish to protect your project and watch the natural wood grain come to life.
What’s Included:
- One pre-milled, preshaped project blank in a premium hardwood (like Walnut, Cherry, or Maple).
- Full access to all necessary hand tools, specialty sanding supplies, and safety gear.
📌 Note: Projects rotate weekly! Spaces are strictly limited to ensure plenty of individual instruction and dedicated workbench space. Open to builders ages 13 and up.
